2012 Kenya Dream-Team

Some people might think that 2012 is quite far but as the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day so I’m proposing a forum where we could start a “Kenya Dream-Team” campaign by first nominating 10 relatively reputable Kenyans and then we could slowly market the team in the next 5 years and hopeful when 2012 arrives, we would have a strong team that would change the way politics is currently run by the privileged few.

I know this sounds like a far-fetched idea and quite frankly it is, but as the Chinese proverb goes, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step so I do strongly believe that is truly feasible and we could make turn this far-fetched dream into reality!

Once we locked-in on the Dream-Team, we could start working out the logistics of raising campaign funds. This could be a simple campaign like soliciting Ksh.100 donations from 5 million Kenyans (5,000,000 * 100 = Ksh. 500,000,000 (half a billion Kenya shillings)) since it is an open secret that money does play a huge role in any political battle.

Here are my first 3 nominees:
1. Mutavi Musyimi
2. Raphael Tuju
3. PLO Lumumba

(a comment left on kenyapolitical.blogspot.com)

4.
James Mwangi (Equity);
5. Titus Naikuni (KQ);
6. Martin Odour-Otieno (KCB);
7. Wangari Maathai (2004 Nobel Peace Price Winner, Founder Green Belt Movement, MP for Tetu Constituency);
8. Bitange Ndemo (PS Ministry of Information & Communication);
9. Peter Kenneth (Asst. Minister-Finance, MP for Gatanga Constituency).

Kenya needs technocrats who can deliver.

Ever since PLO Lumumba announced his bid for a parliamentary seat this year the noise about him having being a police informer in his university days (and only escaping a lynching by his fellow students by fleeing to Dar es Salaam where he completed his degree) has reached a crescendo. I do not know how electable he will be no matter how much money is raised.

Rateng Ogego, current ambassador to the US i odnt think u can talk of the future of kenya without mentioning this guy - the most hardworking ambassador in the world.

Definitely Bitange Ndemo, this guy has demonstrated astute leadership in Information Technology spectrum.

I also vote for Titus Naikuni if he would be willing to jump ship from the corporate world into politics.

I think once we have a consensus on the “Dream-Team” nominees, we should contact the nominees via email if siRKen could sort that out or buy an advert in the local newspaper and then see if these nominees are willing to work as a team.

We could also start an email campaign with to evaluate how many Kenyans would be willing to sign onto this campaign.

WARNING

THE REVEREND MATAVI MUSYIMI
IS A CLEVER MAN NO DOUBT, BUT THIS ENTIRE SITE MAYBE HIS....

EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE, EVERY OTHER THREAT IS THROWN IN THE GUTTER.. SOME DESERVINGLY..BUT IS THIS MUTAVI'S SITE?

HE IS NOT THAT INNOCENT, I KNOW OF ONE WOMAN HE GAVE A LIFT HOME FROM RURAL AREAS WITH HER YOUNG SON, TOOK HER TO A HOTEL AND DANCED THE NIGHT WAWY WITH YOUN LADIES...WHILE SHE CRIED.

Have you asked these technocrats as you call them? They are our leaders ofindustry specailized and essentail to the smooth running of our products. Perhaps they are where they want to be not everybody aspires to State House, and without them who de we replace them with?
Do not destroy industry or demeen the value of the jobs these people do by encouraging them to what is percieved as the top jobs.
Joe Nyagah was correct when he said that we need fresh faces in Government and there are planty of qualified people in Kenya specifically ready for these Government jobs. Instead they sell newspapers....

Crazy as it may sound I believe Bishop M Wanjiru would make a good president.

That woman has been through it all and is making a big change in Housing and Starehe constituency......

I used to read blog posts where people say she's a good leader and laugh..... This time I saw it with my own eyes during Christmas when she gave millions of her own money worth of food to the whole of Nairobi

Peter Kenneth credibility cannot fail to be questioned. Look at the way he has concentrated development only at his home area.Leaving behind the upper part of Gatanga in cold.Sure can he unite Kenya? Peter Gatanga is too small to be drawn apart pliz.

I think David Karuri, the PNU choice for Nairobi Mayor in 2012 is great, but i should think because he is a military veteran he should have been running for security posts

I don't think we can talk about the future of kenya without mentioning David Karuri. All one has to do is sit down with him for a few minutes and he will blow your mind. He is smart, and savy enough to help build Kenya

James Kamau - Nairobi, Kenya said...

David Karuri is in ODM, i do not understand why PNU is always trying to steal our peaple. David Karuri and William Ruto will bring Kenya into 2012 - 2013

David Karuri is the change we need so let us all support him...

Wow, what a way to market yourself Karuri. Send me your profile, what you want to be in Kenya come 2012 and what you will do for wananchi. I will post it here. But you need to come stay in Kenya for a minimum six months to understand politics!

I still second on you the fact that David Karuri has a heap of experience on dealing with people either directly and or other relative means. the fact that Nairobi is becoming more cosmopolitanised this give a great opening for opportunity for him to demonstrate all this experience he has had on his own land

I wish Kenyans could be serious about who and what kind of Future President /Country they really want.
What would possibly make Peter Kenneth a credible choice? Is he really clean and how did he get to where he is?.
We must be careful.. Peter will have sooo many people to reward and to obey as President and could hardly bring the change that we must have in a new Kenya.
