Mungiki calls of their protests

Things go back to normal from tomorrow.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga made an appeal to Mungiki members to stop the protest and invited them to negotiate with him. This is the reason given by Mungiki officials why they called off the strike.

Word out is that the actual reason was to avoid a contemplated serious operation by the police to rid off the city and environs of the Mungiki members. Eric Kiraithe sounded the warning on Thursday saying that very few will make it through the operation.

Meanwhile, the test of Mungiki influence in government circles will be tested during the burial of Mungiki leader Maina Njenga's wife. The burial is scheduled for Friday at the palatial Kitengela home. The test will be if the convicted Mungiki leader will be allowed to attend the wife's burial.
